Cancun Grill
In the mood for Mexican? visit "Cancun Grill"
If you are in the mood for really good Mexican and are close by Miami Lakes then visit Cancun Grill. This is one of my favorite places to go to get away from the usual "Chili's" and "Apple Bees". You always get fresh chips and salsa as soon as you seat down at your table and the servers are usually pretty nice. The menu was re-designed recently and looks really nice and its in english and spanish. My favorite dishes are the "Tijuana Platter" and the "Steak Fajitas" which you can choose for 1 or 2 people. The fajitas come with the usual side of guacamole, sour cream, rice, beans and tortillas.

Soo Woo Japanese Steakhouse
Japanese flavor in Doral
My husband and I love Sushi and Soo Woo Japanese Steakhouse is one of our top picks in the Miami area specifically in Doral. The good thing about this place is as soon as you walk in you are given the choice of Sushi or Hibachi.
The Hibachi is pretty similar to those you see in Samurai and Benihana however the prices are cheaper and the chefs actually do more tricks and are more entertaining.
The Sushi here is delicious and the prices are average for a specialty roll, around $12-$15 for a huge roll which can fill you up. My favorite roll is the "Leggo my Eggo" which has cream cheese, tuna, cucumber, shrimp tempura and topped with avocado, spicy mayo and tempura flakes. I have also tried the "Shrimp Tempura" roll which is very tasty and the regular "JB Rolls" and "California Rolls".
For dessert you must try the "Tempura Ice Cream" which stands for "Fried Ice Cream" in English or the Thai Donuts which are deep-fried donuts topped with sugar and a side of condensed milk to dip them in.

La Hormiga de Oro - Restaurante y Fritanga (Hialeah)
Yes...there's more options to Latin America Restaurant or Chico's in Hialeah
Fritangas are Nicaraguan based restaurants which are really popular in their country for serving authentic food. Here in Miami they try to keep the tradition going so they keep selling authentic dishes, sodas, and even imported good such as cheese, desserts, breads and much more.
La Hormiga de Oro is a chain of Fritangas in Miami so they have several and one of their newest is in Hialeah. You must try their Carne Asada completa which comes with 3 pieces of meat, gallo pinto, maduros, fried cheese and repollo (vinegar Coleslaw) and it's only $7 bucks. Also breakfast is awesome for like less than $5 bucks and it's lots of food and they have over 10 different plates to pick from. Their queso frito is only $1.25, compared to most places who charge $4 is really cheap.
