"Bamboo restaurant in Miami" ( Colombian Food)

This place was recommended by our friends, check it out!

Bahama Breeze

Caribbean Tasty Food

Bahama Breeze is one favorite restaurant hands down. My husband and I have been going there for years and we love it. This place has food and drinks from all over the caribbean including Jamaica, Cuba, Bahamas and many others. To start off as appetizers we usually get the delicious "Coconut Shrimp" which comes with a Mango sause for dipping or we go for the "Tostones with Chicken" which is topped with melted cheese, onions and peppers.

For drinks if you want some refreshing without alcohol you must try the "Lemon Breeze" which is a lemonade made with real sugar cane and you can add flavors of Mango and others for an extra charge. If you want to try something with alcohol I would say try everything, never had a bad drink there. My favorite ones are the "Mango Mojito", "Bahamarita" and the "Bahama Breeze PiƱa Colada". For dinner we have tried lots of dishes but my favorite are the "Jerk Chicken Pasta" which is served with a jerk white sause with chicken, mushrooms and sparagus. My second favorite dish is the "Calypso Shrimp Pasta" which has a very different flavor of spices and shrimp. So if you are either in Kendall or Pembroke Pines make sure you visit Bahama Breeze.

Cancun Grill

In the mood for Mexican? visit "Cancun Grill"

If you are in the mood for really good Mexican and are close by Miami Lakes then visit Cancun Grill. This is one of my favorite places to go to get away from the usual "Chili's" and "Apple Bees". You always get fresh chips and salsa as soon as you seat down at your table and the servers are usually pretty nice. The menu was re-designed recently and looks really nice and its in english and spanish. My favorite dishes are the "Tijuana Platter" and the "Steak Fajitas" which you can choose for 1 or 2 people. The fajitas come with the usual side of guacamole, sour cream, rice, beans and tortillas.

On tueday and thrusday nights they offer all you can eat Tacos for $10.95 plus some drink specials. I would recommend to get the "Pastor", "Carnitas"and "Carne Asada". I had the "Chorizo" and didnt like the flavor but the good thing is that they bring you 3-at-time and you can pick and choose from the different meats available. For dessert I recommend "Fried Ice Cream".

Thrusday and Tuesday specials

Los Totoritas (Doral)

A Taste of Peruvian food in Doral

Cheap Peruvian food and awesome lunch specials in Doral, then you must come to "Las Totoritas". They offer authentic Peruvian food and they have several restaurants in Miami and in Broward. Their Lunch specials are $4.99 + tax and they change daily and they are super tasty. The service is also very good, all services are really polite and kind. You must try the Jalea, Arroz Chaufa and the lomo saltado.

They also have some early bird specials which are usually from about 4:00 to 6:00 pm monday thru friday were you can get Peruvian drinks and some dishes half of price. You must call them to check what they have.

Soo Woo Japanese Steakhouse

                                      Japanese flavor in Doral

My husband and I love Sushi and Soo Woo Japanese Steakhouse is one of our top picks in the Miami area specifically in Doral. The good thing about this place is as soon as you walk in you are given the choice of Sushi or Hibachi.

The Hibachi is pretty similar to those you see in Samurai and Benihana however the prices are cheaper and the chefs actually do more tricks and are more entertaining.

Leggo my Eggo Sushi Roll

The Sushi here is delicious and the prices are average for a specialty roll, around $12-$15 for a huge roll which can fill you up. My favorite roll is the "Leggo my Eggo" which has cream cheese, tuna, cucumber, shrimp tempura and topped with avocado, spicy mayo and tempura flakes. I have also tried the "Shrimp Tempura" roll which is very tasty and the regular "JB Rolls" and "California Rolls".

For dessert you must try the "Tempura Ice Cream" which stands for "Fried Ice Cream" in English or the Thai Donuts which are deep-fried donuts topped with sugar and a side of condensed milk to dip them in.

Los Arrieros

Well made Colombian Food and good prices
 Miami, FL

We ran across this restaurant after looking around in Yelp for close restaurants by and noticed that they had outstanding reviews and almost everyone raved their bandeja paisa which is a traditional colombian dish which brings eggs, rice, beans, carne asada and chicharron (fried pork skin).

Meat Empanadas
We ventured to try this place and I do not regret it. Seems to be family owned, it appears the works are all family. The service was great and place seemed very clean. I ordered the bandeja paisa and it was delicious, the best one I had so far. The carne asada was very taste and was a pretty big and also they include a Toston (fried green plantain) and aguacate (avocado) along with the usual sides. The price was $12 which is outstanding, usually this plate ranges from $14-$19 and the flavor is not as good. Also we tried their Meat Empanadas and they were out of this world, super delicious.

Recommended if you are going to be close to Kendall or SW 40th Street!

La Hormiga de Oro - Restaurante y Fritanga (Hialeah)

Yes...there's more options to Latin America Restaurant or Chico's in Hialeah

Fritangas are Nicaraguan based restaurants which are really popular in their country for serving authentic food. Here in Miami they try to keep the tradition going so they keep selling authentic dishes, sodas, and even imported good such as cheese, desserts, breads and much more.

La Hormiga de Oro is a chain of Fritangas in Miami so they have several and one of their newest is in Hialeah. You must try their Carne Asada completa which comes with 3 pieces of meat, gallo pinto, maduros, fried cheese and repollo (vinegar Coleslaw) and it's only $7 bucks. Also breakfast is awesome for like less than $5 bucks and it's lots of food and they have over 10 different plates to pick from. Their queso frito is only $1.25, compared to most places who charge $4 is really cheap.

El Nuevo Pio Pio Cafe

Best Dominican taste in Miami!

Hialeah Gardens, FL

This is a small family owned Dominican restaurant in Hialeah Gardens. Super delicious food, great service and awesome prices. I had the "Mofongo with Vaca Frita" and it was amazing, the best flavor in town hands down. Mofongo is a dominican dish made out of fried pork skin mixed with garlic and mashed green plantains.

You pay about $8.50 for the dish and the portion can almost feed two people. For appetizer you gotta have "Queso Frito" (fried cheese).

La Nonna Italian Restaurante

Cheap Homemade Italian
Doral, FL

La Nonna is one of Miami's hidden family owned restaurants that many don't know about. The actual owner is the chef of this place and they serve only homemade style Italian dishes. The service here is very good, you feel almost like home and they welcome you with a smile. My favorite fact about this restaurant is that you can get a good lunch for $5.95 monday thru friday and every day there's 2 dishes to choose from. Every dish comes with a side of house salad w/ranch dressing and garlic breads. You are also allowed to pick the type of pasta you want with your meat or fish and the sauce you like. You most try their "Shrimp Parmesan", "Fish a la Francaise" and their "Pasta Carbonara".
